"Twice Humbled, Detail"
Note the distinctive six-foot tall dorsal fin of the male, the shape of which indicates a transient pod, contrasted with the smaller, curved dorsal fin of the female. Orcas pass through the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary to hunt sea lions, elephant seals, and grey whales. They have been found here year round, but most frequently with the fall migration of grey whale calves up from Mexico to Alaska.
