COLOR THEORY WORKSHOP
Color Wheel

A special thanks to my student, Sandra J. Hall, for these notes.

THE COLOR WHEEL

Keep the value the same on the horizontal divide

For luminous grays, use the secondaries.  It is easier to make the same value piles while adjusting the chroma (i.e. making orange more yellow or green more blue)

Use a very light touch with a clean brush and twirling it through

There are many ways to handle the harmony of the secondaries to have the same effect at a distance.  Up close you will see the beauty and excitement of all different ways to have gotten there!
