El Matador Reflection
There are moments in nature when the sky and water turn to shades fo silver. These are some of my favorite scenes to paint. I was lucky enough to find this one at El Matador Beach. Also enjoying the scene here that night was painter Marcia Burt, founding member of the Santa Barbara "OAK Group". I remember speaking to her about our love for the environment, the OAK Group and the painting group I founded in Thousand Oaks; "Conejo Valley Painter's Association." Both groups use paintings as a means to not only show nature's beauty to others , but to preserve it for the future. There were many wonderful things which came out of painting this series, but gaining a new friend is one of the best.
