Sunset at Point Mugu
During the spring of 1999 I experimented with a lot of paintings where the sun was half hidden behind the horizon. It is a tricky enough effect to capture in paint - a bright ball of light shining straight at you with intense colors all around. What makes it harder is that you have to be staring into the sun during the process of the painting. I consider this to be one of my best attempts at that effect.
