Returning From the Hike
One cannot go too long looking at California hillsides without finding a burn section like this one. While painting this scene, I was passed by an older couple returning from thier hike. They paused for a while and talked with me about nothing in particular as I painted the lights of the city in the distance. I don't recall their names, but it was one of the most pleasant sunset experiences of my year.
