Channel Islands - Summer
This is one of my views from the Camarillo grade. The thing I love about this vista is that you don't need a spectacular sunset to get a spectacular painting. These clear days, which were plentiful during the summer, often posed a problem for this series. It is usually the clouds which turn colors at sunset, not the sky itself. By finding vistas of the coast or at the coast I learned to hunt clouds where they could most often be found.
