Heavenly Fire
On January 1, 1999 I officially began my 52 California Sunsets series of paintings. By this point I had already spent three months experimenting with canvas sizes, portable lighting, and different pallets. My main goal was to put out a painting during the time it takes for the sun to set which was able to capture the illusive, harmonic, intense colors of a sunset.
