The final painting of the series on the last sunset of the Millennium. No pressure. All year I had wanted to paint a sunset from Treasure Island on San Francisco Bay- which is also a Naval Base. With the terrorist paranoia that night, the Millitary Police took no chances with me, and I was stopped several times to explain exactly what I was doing. Twice I was asked to open tubes of paint to show that they were, in fact, paint. Looking back, it amazes me that I was not asked to leave. It wasn't a showy display of colors, but maybe I'll try again on the next millennium's eve.
