Some nights I would go out to paint and never find what I was looking for, coming home with a blank canvas to a wife who probably wondered what I was really doing for two hours. I thought this would be one of those nights when I left Oxnard empty handed, and then I noticed this pink glow on the horizon in my rear view mirror. I found an agricultural access road and parked where my headlights could help illuminate my canvas. This painting is the latest sunset in the series, and the only one with stars.
